Arbitration award
An arbitration decree is similar to a civil court decree, and is used to recover the amount awarded by an arbitration panel. However, the arbitration panel does not have the same powers as the court that issued the decree, and the award must be enforced by a court.
Arbitration is a way for parties to settle a dispute without going to court. The parties involved must have an arbitration agreement in place. The arbitration panel will make a final award that ends the dispute
The award must be issued within the agreed-upon time frame, or within 12 months if no agreement was made. The arbitration panel can extend the time frame by up to six months, unless the parties agree to a longer period.
